Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC)

The Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC) is a leading organisation helping the nation's innovators achieve commercial success.

By providing advice, solutions and tools, and assisting people to improve their commercialisation skills, the AIC fast-tracks the commercialisation of Australian innovation. AIC assists business, research organisations and governments to convert their ideas into successful outcomes.

The AIC addresses market gaps and accelerates the commercialisation of technology that clients have created. Through the AIC's work, clients are able to better develop their ideas and capitalise on opportunities that create high value jobs, exports and economic growth.

Established in 2002 with funding from the Queensland Government's Smart State initiative, the AIC enjoys the support of Federal, State and Territory government agencies, industry and the R&D community throughout Australia.

Australian Government programs delivered by the AIC include:

  • Researchers-in-Business - a linkage service provision to assist businesses to identify relevant research organisation expertise and to formally engage with them as part of the Enterprise Connect Network.
  • Clean Energy Innovation Centre - the Clean Energy Innovation Centre help support SMEs to participate in the clean energy sector.
