EventsAll in the Best Possible Taste: what scientists are doing to our food Ig Nobel prize-winning scientist and author Dr Len Fisher will reveal the ways science is being used to enhance and widen our food experience. Dr Fisher will provide practical 'scientific' hints on how to improve your home cooking and recover from culinary disasters. Everyone who attends receives a complimentary drink and canap's. Dr Fisher is famous for using physics to work out the best way to dunk a biscuit and works with leading chefs on new applications of science in gastronomy. The event is part of James Cook University's Science on the Strand Lecture Series, with support from The Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, and the Brisbane Writers Festival. The Ig Nobel Prizes are a parody of the Nobel Prizes and are awarded each year for achievements that "first make people laugh, and then make them think".
